Was ist eine Jam-Session?

Eine Jam-Session ist ein zwangloses Treffen von Musikern, die ohne feste Probe oder strenge Arrangements gemeinsam musizieren. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der Improvisation und dem spontanen Zusammenspiel, oft über bekannte Melodien oder Standards.

Merkmale einer Jam-Session

• Spontaneität: Die Musiker spielen meist unvorbereitet zusammen. Oft haben sie zuvor noch nie in dieser Konstellation musiziert.
• Improvisation: Über festgesetzte Harmonien oder Rhythmen werden Soli improvisiert.
• Struktur: Häufig eröffnet eine feste „Opener-Band“ den Abend, bevor die Bühne für andere Musiker freigegeben wird. Im Jazz dienen oft bekannte Jazzstandards als gemeinsame Basis.
